Mainstream media is a flurry of court cases and laws which are anti-women - from insufficient sentencing in sexual assault cases to the male-dominated decision-making of abortion rights cases. These handmade collages act to contrast anti-feminist messages and portray women as the true owners of their bodies.

Rebecca McLaren is a Toronto-based storyteller with a passion for social activism. Rebecca’s art ranges from abstract acrylic paintings, to handmade collages, to poetry and creative writing, and her works deal primarily with topics of mental health and sexuality. In her spare time, she can be found managing and curating her online magazine: Polemical Zine, or buying an excessive amount of flashy jackets.
